Kinesiology Overview
Dr George Goodhart, an American chiropractor, working in the 1960s, discovered that by testing muscles he could evaluate the health of patients. Based on this he developed a range of muscle testing techniques that enabled him to assess the health of the whole body. In 1976 Brian Butler promoted the Kinesiology approach in the UK and Europe. Today, Kinesiology is practised in many countries all over the world.
The treatment involves applying gentle pressure to specific muscles linked to the different organs of the body. If a weak muscle is found in a particular area special correcting techniques are applied to balance the energies which flow in the channels called meridians to correct imbalances.
The practitioner users bespoke corrective techniques to balance the body. The practitioner also provide advice on diet, nutrition, vitamin intake and/or or lifestyle changes as appropriate. Minor conditions are corrected before they become more serious.
Kinesiology is underpinned by many of the concepts of Chinese acupuncture but without the use of needles.
